I have been on a lookout for a classic watch for daily use while I save up for a rolex datejust. After much research decided on this model. I was really not expecting too much given the price but WOW! it's a great watch. Good weight, fit and finish are excellent, superior to some tag heuers at $1500 I had been handling recently. Very pleased overall.

Very nice watch. I like the thickness of the watch. The bracelet is very nice and operates smoothly. Operation of the watch by the crown is also very smooth. The winding, time setting, and date setting are all very satisfying. The crystal is quite non-reflective, too. And Seiya's service is very fast and polite. I am planning my next purchase already.

Having had this watch for just a couple of days, I've been impressed with its quality of build and finish, and more importantly, its timekeeping. This is a fine watch at any price and a remarkable one at this price. The level of finish compares favourably to my Omega Aqua Terra from the front and sides but cannot compete with the quality of finish on the movement. The bracelet is equally comfortable while the buckle looks inferior when closed but superior when open! To compare so well against a watch which costs ten times more is quite an achievement. I purchased this watch with hesitation thinking that the new 6R15 movement and the bracelet would be on par with a Seiko 5, I was completely wrong. I bought the SCV001 from Seiya-san last year. It's an excellent dress watch. Great value for the price. The 6R15 movement is excellent, and the 50hr power reserve is a real big plus for me (mine is about 58hrs). The bracelet really suits the watch, but there is not really a good fine adjustment on it so for some it may be too toight or too loose. But then again, it looks great on a leather strap! :-)

I bought this Spirit model from Seiya-san six months ago and it is an outstanding watch for the price. It looks great and by varying the positions at night I can always keep the watch within 2-3 seconds of the correct time, so I never have to use the hack feature (I leave the watch face down if it is a few seconds behind, or vertical with the 12 down if not).
